Welcome new energy, opportunities and positive flow with Feng Shui in 2024.
One of the most significant things to do to start fresh in Feng Shui is to clean, organize, fix and declutter your space, home or business thoroughly. Doing so will eliminate stagnant energy and invisible obstacles, mentally and otherwise. This fresh start leaves room for new energies and opportunities to come into your space and your life.
Positive Feng Shui in any space has a harmonious flow of chi or life force energy. It’s invisible, but it can be felt. It creates harmony, well-being and prosperity and success for its occupants.
The five Feng Shui elements in creative order are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. These elements are associated with life aspects such as career and opportunities, knowledge and self-cultivation, family, wealth, fame and reputation, relationships, creativity and children, benefactors and traveling, and health.
Obstacles in any area of life aspects can indicate that there is an imbalance or blockage in energy flow. This flow can be adjusted by appropriate use of elemental remedies. You can remove or add such elements to balance the situation — for instance, change what’s on display on a table or move furniture to a more advantageous location.
A shift in furniture or decor can help align your energy flow for the new year.
Good Feng Shui enhances the healthy flow of chi or life force energy within humans, our homes, offices, outdoors, land and our surroundings, as everything is energetically connected.
Yang season starts in the solar calendar on February 4, 2024, as the Yin season comes to its end. This is also a start for the new twenty-year cycle, No. 9, with different effects than the past twenty-year cycle, No. 8.
A Lo-Shu grid, or a magic square, presenting the numbers in order is considered to show the natural progression in nature and is part of Chinese ancient divination and numerology.
Bagua is a Feng Shui tool used to map out the different energy areas of a space. It is a map divided in nine equal squares or rectangles, one in the center and others to cardinal compass directions. Each direction and number is correlated to one of the five elements mentioned above. The map is imposed on a floor plan or a lot. This helps to divide the space according to the elemental energies and star locations in a space. The bottom of the map faces North.
The Flying Stars method is used to follow the movement of stars, and for energies for positive and negative, as they change locations each year.
The favorable star locations in buildings this year are northwest (4), southwest (9) and east (1). The combination of the year 2024 and cycle No. 9 stars may affect the overall meaning of the yearly star in its location on the map. Of course, monthly moving stars and their combination with the yearly star and cycle No. 9 star energies will have an effect also.
I’ve moved my office desk from a west location (which was great for last year but not favorable for this year) to an ideal southwest location in 2024 (yearly star No. 9 and cycle star No. 6 sector).
The west location of the home or building should be kept calm and quiet this year. In Feng Shui the elemental reducing cycle can be used to minimize or balance the unwanted effects of unfavorable stars in your space.
Metal reduces the effects of earth, therefore real metal or bronze accessories can be displayed in the west location of your home, thus reducing the effects of the unfavorable (5) yellow earth star that’s in the west for this year. Whites or metal colors can also be used in paint colors, pillows, throws, art and furniture. Also, the southeast area of a home is occupied with the second most unfavorable yearly star (earth 2), and actual metal accessories or colors can reduce the effects here as well.
There are more enhancement or balancing options for all elements in Feng Shui, and sometimes no action is required. Any remedies should be in place by February 4 if possible.
